Storm Approaching Little Congwong – 120x90cm
: Having spent many family holidays on the NSW north coast growing up, I have always been drawn to Australian coastal landscapes. The beach features in many of my works and Little Congwong has become a favourite. It is now my local beach, my place where I go to swim, read, relax and sketch. It’s a place where I feel most free. In Storm Approaching Little Congwong I am watching a terrific storm developing across Botany Bay. The clouds over the water were mesmerising. The swell was starting to build and waves were beginning to break on the beach. In the work I am trying to capture the feeling of calm before the storm, the way nature has many moods and extremes
