Skelly, Ann

Ann's love of art began from childhood in the UK, where she later earned a Bachelor of Arts and Design with a focus on ceramics. But it was New Zealand's stunning landscapes that truly inspired her, prompting a move to these shores in 1987. Since then, she's made a name for herself in painting, illustration and ceramic design, also creating a total of twelve Finalist garments for the World of Wearable Art Show in Wellington, a testament to her imagination and skill. She spent time at Weta Workshop, the renowned Wellington-based design studio, and moved from there to spend more time in her own studio doing what she loves most, painting.
Ann has consistently participated in group exhibitions in Wellington and Auckland as well at the NZ Art Show
She paints full-time from her Waiheke Island based studio, surrounded by the beauty of nature. Her recent works are a love letter to the sea, capturing the ever-changing moods of the ocean.
With water as her muse, she finds endless inspiration in its unpredictable, mesmerising and almost magical qualities. Get ready to be enchanted by her beautiful paintings!
