As an artist with a background in graphic design and architectural drafting, I bring a little bit of me to my oil paintings, working to capture land and seascapes My artistic approach revolves around seeing not just the physical shapes of the land and water. With the richness and layering of oil paint I can maximise the play of light and shadow, the subtle shifts in tone and the brightness of the colours of our country. Add to that the unique textures of our coastal environment and there is a lot visual reference to draw from. I like to capture familiar scenes that I see everyday
