Into the overflow – 92x92cm

Stepping up to the handrails, high tide overflows the edges of the ocean pool. This picture is from a continuing series of impasto oil paintings inspired by Sydney’s beautiful beach landscapes and coastal pools. Paint has been generously applied using a palette knife rather than a brush, giving texture and depth. Close up textures are abstract colours, resolving in clarity as you step back to take in the whole painting
