Coolola – 91x122cm

I was standing in the warm shallow waters looking across towards Cooloola on a late spring afternoon and was struck by the sand hills tapering into the distance. The steep slips of sand appeared to glow almost orange and contrasted with the deep green of the surrounding foliage. With almost no swell present, the foreground water was an alluring turquoise hue. I made some sketches back on the beach, and this painting is my composite recollection of the features of this beautiful location.
