Breaking Wave – 50x76cm

Capturing an image of the ocean in oils is so rewarding as the vibrancy of oil paints capture the depth and fluidity of the very movement of water as it passes from my brush to the canvas. I try to entice the viewer to dive into my painting, not just visually but to feel the sea breeze as it caresses against their skin, tasting salt spray on their lips, inhaling the briny smell of the ocean and hearing the waves as they fall against the rocks and sand. I’m detail oriented and aim to take special care to incorporate all the complexities that create the illusion of the movement of water as it rushes to the shore.
